Cadet Medium
In 1889, Henry Haskell, a teacher of Sunday school, is concerned by the growing number of boys who were hanging around pool rooms. He decided to use his ingenuity and inventive to create games for boys are healthy and pleasant. Carrom provided entertainment family for all ages since. Some games test your skills or strategy used, other games were just for fun.
The Carrom Company has changed its name across the different years (it was originally the Ludington Novelty Company until 1901), but is now known as the Carrom Company, as it was known from 1914-1939.
The gaming tables were original Carrom table games. They were usually made of wood, about 30 "square, which often had rounded corners and some with pockets at each corner for games different. Different models of games were presented on each side.
A brief overview of the Carrom game boards made up 1945.
- A – The Board of Directors the most beautiful and elegant ever made, produced no change, from about 1902 until 1941.
- B – "4-panel surface" with removable panel, 1902-1939.
- BB – Baseball / Crokinole, from 1938 to 1941.
- C – "The combination of the Crown" w / Spider Flies game, 1899-1943.
- D – No. 2 – "Flags of the United Nations, 1902-1941.
- E – No. 1 – An extremely popular council in 1899-1939, painted in red and black with a 1-1/2 "thick rim; rare editions very early red and green. Replaced by the" Q "style in 1934, but was briefly reinstated from 1937 until 1939 with a 1-1/4 "rim.
- F – Austere (economic) version of "A", 1901-1938. Probably second to the letter "E" in popularity.
- G – No. 2-1901 until around 1930, a greatly improved edition of Ludington Novelty Co. 's first board of directors that had pockets of timber. Rare first editions come in red and green. All others are in red and black.
- GP – mid-1940s, called Carrom Ladies ", a rare variant E bearing "old" Checker design on one side and "C" Spider & the other flies. 29 "square.
- H – Crokinole octagonal board, from 1900 to 1936, 1904 catalog shows H-1, 29 "diameter, H-2, 31", H-3 just as H-2, but with the green found in the ditch, several varieties exist.
- H-4 – Sharp-square corners 28-1/2 "board, 1937-1939, may be 1940, very rare for an inexpensive table.
- J – Develop edge baseball book about 1908 still in a catalog 1927. Very rare.
- K – 1939 -1941 Carrom Viking Edition with Chinese checkers on the back. N marbles – a playing surface flat with many small wooden markers.
- LF – 1938 – 1939 Board of baseball honoring Lew Fonseca, 1920 Celebrity Baseball and 1930, the other side Board is empty. Identical set to 'BB'.
- O – Late 1930 Carrom game tables, carrom called Backgammon edge. The Carrom / Controllers side is exactly like the corresponding side of the letter "E" and the opposite side contains nothing more than a full-size Backgammon pattern in red and black.
- – P "Carrom-Pleasure", in the late 1930s, 24 "board; one side brought the game Spider & Flies and the other was the old game of Fox & Geese.
- Q – The Viking Council, introduced in 1934 to replace the letter "E". Missing about 1947.
- QS – 1944 (only?) Same as "Q" but "finished in brown stain, according to the ads (wartime problems of wood supply).
- SP – Sport board, 1939-1941, baseball as "BB", football on the other hand, difficult to find.
- – T "Carrom-Tennis", 1940-1943, 168 game pieces, the 5-panel surface, designers Carrom Industries really had a ball with this fun edition, very rare.
- X – Late 1930, called the "Cadet".
- Y – 24 "" Playboy "board introduced 1935 could be called a more austere and smaller ancestor of the "GP"
- YP – Same as "Y", edition made during the War of the composition of board.
Carrom makes a few classic games, but have also evolved, both the introduction of popular games today. Some of the gaming tables Carrom that are popular in family rooms across the country include air hockey, stick hockey and table football.
