"Why black color on my business card, flyer, brochure or a postcard of a gray and black is not true? "I get this a lot of customers. Many graphic artist did not disclose this information in hopes to bring back customers from their print products are the darkest. By disclosing this information to my clients, so far they have been so grateful that they returned to ask for quotes on printing products. Black is a dark rich mixture of solid black ink, 100% K, with additional CMY ink values. This results in a darker tone than black ink only. If you print black alone as 100% of K, the dark due in May not be as bleak as you might like.
Formula CMYK for printing the color black – Deep Rich Black is C60 M40 Y40 K100.
This formula was making 3 of the best printers in the United States.
Just about any quality printer you say this, but, of course, you must you ask. Some printers have different formulas for CMYK values – is ok. Anywhere close to the value above will give you a Deep Rich Black better than using K100% naked black only.
